Social Protest • The Case of the Cuban Five

A Story of Injustice- Since the triumph of the Cuban Revolution in 1959 over 3500 Cubans have died from terrorist attacks organized by anti Cuban terrorist groups in Miami. Out of necessity, and in order to defend the security of their country, the Cuban government sent 5 men to monitor the activities of these terrorists operating freely in Southern Florida. In 1998 the U.S. government received plans of more terrorist attacks from the information the Cuban 5 had gathered. Instead of arresting the terrorists the government arrested the Cuban 5 who are now serving collectively 4 life terms and 75 years in federal prisons.
