The majority of these images were taken in the Southern part of Mexico with a focus on indigenous communities. They include the historic 2001 caravan for basic indigenous rights that traveled from the highlands of Chiapas to Mexico City, led by the Zapatista Army for National Liberation. Nearly 20% of the 100 million Mexicans are indigenous with over 60 distinct cultures and 100 languages.
